TOOLS TO DIVE

DEEPER

We want to help support you as you take your next steps in your faith. Whether you’re looking to understand the Bible better, build a daily rhythm with God, or simply learn where to start, these tools and resources are here to help you dive deeper and continue growing.

Find a Bible You Can Understand

A good study Bible can help you understand not only what you’re reading, but the context behind it. Study Bibles include helpful tools like book introductions, historical and cultural context, timelines, maps, character profiles, explanations of difficult passages, and notes throughout Scripture.

Read or Listen to the Bible

You don’t have to have a physical Bible in front of you to spend time in Scripture. Bible apps make it easy to read or listen wherever you are and can be especially helpful as you build a consistent rhythm.

YouVersion Bible App
Read or listen to the Bible in a variety of translations, follow Bible reading plans and devotionals, watch video devotionals, and keep track of your progress—all for free.

Great for: Someone who wants an easy place to start or wants to make Bible reading part of their everyday routine.

Understand What You’re Reading

Sometimes the hardest part of reading the Bible is understanding what’s happening, why it matters, and how it fits into the bigger story of Scripture.

BibleProject
BibleProject creates beautifully illustrated videos that help explain the Bible. You can find an overview for every book of the Bible, along with videos exploring biblical themes, words, characters, and concepts.

Try this: Before starting a new book of the Bible, watch the BibleProject overview first. It can give you helpful context for everything you’re about to read.

New to Reading the Bible? Start Here.

You don't have to start on page one! If you're new to the Bible, we recommend beginning with one of the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John—which tell us about the life and ministry of Jesus. The book of John is a great place to start. Try reading one chapter at a time, asking God to help you understand what you're reading and what He wants to teach you through it.

And remember, you don't have to figure it all out on your own. If you'd like some help knowing where to begin or what your next step could be, fill out the form at the bottom of this page and someone from our team would love to connect with you.

You can also check out our Events and Groups to see when a Bible study, small group, or course is starting. Learning alongside other people is one of the best ways to ask questions, grow in your understanding of Scripture, and take your next step in following Jesus.

Build a Daily Rhythm

Not sure what to read each day? A devotional guide can give you a simple starting point. Most include a short Scripture reading along with teaching, explanation, questions, or encouragement to help you reflect on what you’ve read.

Here are some free resources, but we also have some other devotionals in our staff Picks section.
