Our Story

Our story begins with two men back in 1979.

These men had a burden to communicate the message of salvation through Jesus to the Village of Minooka.

A small group of locals began meeting in Minooka Jr. High as they focused on learning from the Bible and building community with one another. After many years and a lot of prayer, the original church group purchased land on Wabena Avenue and in 1984 they broke ground on the first worship center.

Since then, our core group of planters have grown into a much larger church family who have seen God take that initial goal of declaring the freedom we have in Christ far beyond the boundary markers of Minooka.

The vision of those original two men is still alive and well at MBC.

Like the small gathering who met in the jr. high, we also recognize the absolutely pivotal role that journeying alongside other believers plays in a our spiritual growth. This is not a faith of hermits, or of spectators. God has designed us for community.

Today MBC continues the legacy of passion for God’s Word, creativity and innovation in our proclamation, and care for one another.
